Photography Courses Built Around How You Actually Shoot

An Annandale-Based Program for Photographers Ready to Level Up

We help working and aspiring photographers close the gap between the photos they’re taking and the photos they’re capable of, guided by the teaching approach of photographer and educator Jordan Berg. Explore the courses and coaching offered through Photoberg, and see how the process works.

Where Your Skills Become Second Nature

A Learning Process Built Around Your Work, Not a Generic Curriculum

From your first breakdown session to the moment technique stops feeling like a checklist, we work closely with you to build real, lasting skill. Whether you’re refining composition, working with limited gear, or learning to read a scene before you shoot it, every session is built around your photos, your questions, and your goals.

Portrait Breakdown Courses

Together, we’ll take portraits you already admire and break them down piece by piece, composition, framing, technique, and setup, so you understand exactly why they work. Each course blends real examples with hands-on practice so the skill actually transfers to your own shoots.

1:1 Photography Coaching

Photography coaching is about your work specifically. We’ll look at what you’re shooting now, talk through what’s holding it back, and build a plan to get you where you’re trying to go, whether that’s more confident portraits, a stronger creative eye, or simply shooting with less guesswork.

My Photography Coaching Process For Building Your Skills

Growing as a photographer is a collaborative process. My approach to photography lessons is designed to meet you where you are, build real understanding, and give you tools you’ll keep using long after a session ends. Here’s how it works:

01. Book a Call

We begin with a discovery call to understand where you’re at and where you want to go, whether that’s mastering a specific skill or leveling up your work.

02. Plan Your Goals

We’ll look at your current work and pinpoint what’s helping and what’s holding it back, so every session is built around real, specific goals.

03. Learn By Doing

You’ll break down real examples, practice with your own gear and space, and get direct feedback along the way.

04. Shoot With Confidence

You’ll walk away with skills you actually understand and can rely on, not just a list of tips, so every future shoot builds on the last.

Courses are a great fit if you want to work through a specific skill at your own pace. Coaching is better if you want ongoing feedback on your own work and a plan built specifically around your goals. Not sure which is right for you? Book a call and we’ll figure it out together.
No. Most of what holds photographers back isn’t their equipment, it’s understanding how to use what they have. Our approach is built around working with the gear and space you already have access to.
I’d say almost any level of experience. Whether you’re just starting out and want to build strong fundamentals, or you’ve been shooting for years and want to close specific gaps, sessions are built around where you currently are.
Most students notice a shift in how they see and approach a shoot within the first few sessions. Long-term growth depends on your goals, but the changes tend to show up fast because they’re tied directly to your own work.
Yes. Online photography classes are highly online, and coaching is available virtually as well as in-person at the Annandale studio. Photo reviews and feedback work the same way whether we’re in the same room or not.
Right now, course enrollment and coaching bookings are handled through our partner platform. You’ll find direct links on each program page, and we’re happy to walk you through the process if you have questions.

Many students do both, working through a course to build foundational skills, then moving into coaching for ongoing feedback on their own shoots. We can help you figure out the right combination for your goals..
